The Arkansas Center for the Book is pleased to share our Great Reads selection for Youth: Cypress Knees and Tuplelo Trees: Discovering Plants and Animals of the Swamp by Cathy Melvin (Little Rock: Et Alia Press, 2023). “Uncover the mysteries of the swamp ecosystem as its plants and animals spring to life through lively rhyme and colorful painted collage.”
Cathy Melvin believes in the power of children’s picture books and has amassed a library full of them after having raised two children. She loves encouraging children to stay curious and creative, especially when it comes to the natural world.
