State Employee Services at ASL
The primary mission of the Arkansas State Library is to serve as the information resource center for state government. The State Library offers the following direct services and resources to active state employees in order to support their research needs.
Reference & Research Services
Professional Reference staff are available to assist with research requests, to provide training on the use of library collections and resources, and to share information about any of the State Library's various programs and services.
Requests may be made in person or by calling 501-682-2053 or emailing: firstname.lastname@example.org during regular business hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Reference staff may be contacted after hours using the Ask a Librarian online form.
Online Databases & Journals
Employees of state-supported education institutions are not eligible for remote access, but may request articles from these collections directly through our Interlibrary Loan department. ASL Reference staff are available to search and select materials from these online collections on behalf of all patrons.
The State Library's Interlibrary Loan department borrows materials held by other libraries on behalf of state employees who need those items for work-related purposes.
State employees may use the online form to initiate an ILL request, or contact the department at (501) 682-2866 during regular business hours.
Meeting Space for Arkansas State Government
Conference rooms of various sizes are available for reservation by state agencies and other state-affiliated organizations to conduct trainings, meetings or other official business.
